WELCOME BACK

To the Mark Gunter Photographer of the Year Awards.

RIDING THROUGH 2021
Thankfully this year brought a shift in the world with an opening up of cities, eased restrictions and an abundance of cyclists riding through 2021, living their shared passion.

And what a year it’s been on the world tour stage. One we’ll all remember.

We want all cyclists and cycling photographers to be part of the Awards — to share your images, your moments, and your love of cycling from behind the lens.

YOU’RE MAKING A DIFFERENCE
The awards — are and always will be, about making a difference — and this year, all entry fees raised are once again being donated to cancer research and to Young Cyclist Assistance. Two important causes.

We’re proud to support Tour de Cure and one young cyclist — or maybe two if we raise more — who need a little financial hand to help them make it to the next step in their cycling journey.

Thank you for making a difference to someone’s else life.

OUR PURPOSE

A little reminder of why we exist — to help others, to bring the cycling community together, and to inspire others. And — for my son Lucas to share in Mark’s love of cycling and photography.

I’m so proud that this year Lucas joined the fight to raise money for cancer research by riding 100km for Tour de Kids and raised over $1,500 himself (read more here).

We’ve lost so many people to cancer, and sadly, it will continue.  May your photos inspire others to get out, enjoy our natural environment and enter this years #markgunterphotoawards2021.

LUCAS'S LIST

He’s back in 2021! And he hasn’t stopped talking about being a judge again this year.

2021 will be his third year, and he’s ready to show you how he sees the cycling world.

You may not know the story, that back in 2019 he saw that the Judges were making their Shortlists, and he wanted to be part of the Awards too! This year he said to me, “thanks for letting me be a judge”.

LUCAS HELPING SICK KIDS

Lucas found his love of cycling!

After riding a bike for just 2 days in September, he signed up to ride 100km to raise money for sick kids with cancer for Tour de Kids, another cycling charity here in Australia.

He smashed his goal distance and donations target.
Champion effort buddy!

LUCAS'S LIST PRIZES

The accolade for being chosen by Lucas, is just that.  Hopefully he’ll add a little hope and light to your life if he’s chooses one of your photos.
