It’s been a year since Mark died. It’s gone quickly in some ways, and slowly in others. As Mark’s wife, people still talk to me about their friend with the big smile.

Mark captured the attention of his peers and cycling fans everywhere. His beautiful images shone with emotion and insight. He simply loved the sport, and was incredibly passionate about his work.

He’s sadly missed by the cycling world. And especially by Lucas & myself.

When CyclingTips approached me to establish the Mark Gunter Photographer of the Year Awards, I was excited. I’m proud to say 2016 will mark the inaugural photography competition in Mark’s honour.

See some of the entries from Week 1, from Week 2, and Week 3, and Week 4, and the very last entries from Week 5,

Entries are closed and the judging took place across 3 continents on Saturday 14th January.  The winners have been announced; here on CyclingTips.com.

CONGRATULATIONS to all our winners and to everyone who entered and helped honour Mark and help others in the process.
